Seabreeze

We arrived at Seabreeze to a torrential downpour that got us wet, some more than others, before the park had even opened. The park had very kindly given us an hour to ride their 4 coasters before letting the public in. With the majority of the group choosing to head left for two of the rides, a few of us headed the other way.

First up was Bear Trax, the park's Miler kiddie coaster, which isn't usually open to adults. This rode as expected but lacked the violent turns that kids love and adults despise that most of these kiddy rides have. Tick and move on.

The second coaster was Jack Rabbit, the signature ride in the park. We got first rides and chose to do so in the front. It ran really well for something that has been running for so long. The ride was gentle in the morning, I'm not sure how it would run at the end of the day and unfortunately we weren't going to get the chance. Kennywood's Jack Rabbit offered some violent air time on the double down. This ride had the same element but without the thrill.

Third ride of the day was on Bobsleds, which has circular pipes instead of rails. The ride was a lot of fun offering mouse-like laterals on another wise smooth running course. Despite Jack Rabbit being the main attraction this was the better ride in my opinion.

The final coaster was the park's latest addition, a Maurer spinning mouse with an identical layout as at Waldameer. With only two of us in each car we were able to make a little more of the spinning and got a quite enjoyable ride, making this one better than yesterday's.

With the ERS over the gates to the park were opened to the public. Rather strangely, the park was only open to groups today, the majority of those being over-excitable school kids. So the park filled up quickly and the operations were challenged.

Interesting tea-cup variation where the cups follow a figure 8 path crossing over from one rotating disk to another.

Seabreeze is a nice park with a small collection of rides. They're also proud of their history with an amazing archive up around the carousel and a selection of other material dropped around the park.

We even got our own sign for the day!

During lunch a second flash storm hit the park, but rather interestingly the rides remained open but with everything ridden and the school kids only increasing in numbers the group were
spending more time chilling than riding (some more posey than others) so we decided to depart the park early.

I really liked Seabreeze. It's a little out of the way being on the banks of Lake Ontario but I would recommend it as a short stop park perhaps on the same day as Darien Lake. It's certainly not an all-day park, unless the kids turn up!
