Martin's Fantasy Island

Martins Fantasy Island is very close to Niagra Falls on Grand Island. It opened I think in the 80s and is most well known for it's wooden coaster Silver Comet. I have no idea who Martin is but I suspect it has nothing to do with 80s comedian Steve Martin, otherwise it would be called Steve's Fantasy Island.

Nice idea for a bin! Hippolittermaus

Silver Comet was a big surprise. I didn't have any expectations of it and it delivered a solid enjoyable ride that wasn't rough at all. Big thanks to the train driver who stopped the train around the back of the coaster to allow us to take some of these.

An impressive looking structure too.

Darren and Jeppe on the StarFlyer, a ride that still gives me the chills. Jeppe looks tired! Darren looks well...like he's had too much orange juice for breakfast.

The newest coaster in the park is a mouse coaster that didn't give us a good spin the first time we rode it but did better the second time around. The craziest thing about this ride is that the sign is on back-to-front.

The park has a shoot out show, which was OK for what it was. If you're not excited by the guns you could always visit the Fudge Shop!

The French Navy debut their new warship! Life jackets compulsory.

It all gets too much for the Greeks. (With these things its always good to have at hand something to wedge the top piece down so that they can't get out. On this occasion a twig worked perfectly. Macgyver would have been proud.

A child would see two puppets. An adult would read much more into it!

With plenty of time to kill we decided to play a round of crazy snooker.

Two of us tied for the lead and one of us didn't.

Painted elephants, cows and now bison. Fortunately there was only the one and I'm guessing painted by local kids.

Phil has fat fingers everyone!

One of my favourite pictures of the trip as we ambush Kostas. For a thrill seeker who's done of the bungy jumps in the world its funny that he's so scared of such a short drop.

At the end of the day we were given an ERS on the wooden coaster and after a slight delay the disk-o ride. Both a lot of fun. Martins was an OK park, it killed half the day! The wooden coaster is really good but accompanied with a lot of average rides. It is however good enough on its own to justify the visit.
